You guys, this year I wrote 30 lessons! I had heart palpitations when I first went from a free Substack to offering paid subscriptions. That meant I had to write. I prefer to be able to procrastinate for as long as I want with no consequences. Let’s just say executive functioning is not my strength. But…crazy rabbit trail thinking, seeing interesting things everywhere, and trying new things ARE my strengths.
Thank you to everyone who has helped me. With your words. Your money. Your support. Thank you for using my words to practice with non speakers.
I don’t have a smart phone. I get looks when I pull out a flip phone, open it with one hand and my chin, and talk to text into it. I don’t have social media. I cancelled facebook December 31st 2019 (no regrets). I had two volumes of my old IG posts printed into hard copy books and they collect dust on my bookshelves. I basically hide in my house, leave to buy food and thrift store treasure hunt, and come back to my coziness. I work from home, live from home, and love my home and am the worst promoter of my businesses ever.
The reason I’m telling you this is that any and all of the growth that MagicPencil has achieved this year is only because of YOU. THANK YOU!
My anniversary, birthday, and favorite holiday are all in December, so after today, I’m taking the month off from posting and using the time to write more for the new year (and obviously to sit in front of my fireplace, pretend it’s very cold outside, and read books and binge Suits).
I’ll set my substack to vacation mode and paid subscribers will NOT be charged for the month of December.
If you have liked MagicPencil this past year, please share for me. Feel free to use the attached image.
Love to you all.
Happy Spelling,
Gigi
Hey Gigi, I love that you don't have a smart phone. What bugs me with smart phones is that now we're all expected to be "ON" all. the. time. Whatever happens to getting back to people days and even weeks at a time? I think it's time we think things through, no? Anyhow, lovely to have met on the Stack- Cheers, - Thalia
